Just a couple of Lee's deliveries were suspect, says Venkataraghavan
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

MUMBAI, JULY 15: Umpire Srinivas Venkataraghavan has said only a couple of deliveries bowled by young Australian tearaway Brett Lee during the three-Test series in the February-March against New Zealand looked suspect and he reported his views to ICC Match Referee Mike Denness, an Australian newspaper said.

The former India captain and off-spinner has also advocated the use of cameras to clear up the issue. ``It's very difficult to tell with the naked eye whether someone throws, but let's use the cameras to clear it up. This will be the best decision for everyone. I think Lee is a brilliant bowler and I am sure he will have a brilliant career. He won't need much work on his action, if he needs any at all.''

Another Indian umpire who stood in the same series, A Vjayaprakash, has also made his report to Match Referee Denness, a former England captain, about Lee's action.

The Lee case is to come up before the ICC panel on illegal deliveries headed by another former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar and comprising a member each from the ten countries having Test status plus independent umpire Nigel Plews.
