The second coming

Hit or miss?

Switching roles

Yes Juhi Chawla is playing producer to the hilt. She has been looking into all the nitty-gritties involved in movie-making on the sets of her company's latest movie, Ashoka The Great which stars Kareena Kapoor in the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Contrary to rumours, Juhi isn't miffed about being left out in the cold by her producer-partner SRK. In fact, she herself is said to have brought up Kareena's name for the part. However, it's not like the chirpy actress is doing nothing besides production work. She gears up now to work with Amitabh Bachchan in Suneel Darshan's film which will start shortly.

Star to finish...

Film-maker Kalpana Lajmi can't stop raving about Raveena Tandon and the supposedly terrific job she's done in Lajmi's latest film, Daman. The movie, one that is based on domestic violence in India, features Raveena as the victim of this maara-maari. Lajmi, who burnt her fingers working with an ungrateful Kiron Kher on Darmiyaan, has decided she won't work without stars again. With Raveena toplining her latest film, the versatile lady film-maker hopes audiences won't give Daman the cold shoulder.
