Man kills woman, commits suicide

NASIK, AUG 3: A 45-year-old petrol-pump worker at Sinnar, about 29 kms from here, stabbed a woman of the same age and later ended his own life by consuming poison and also by stabbing himself yesterday, police said today.

The man, Balasaheb Sakharam Lonare, knifed the woman, identified as Shantabai Sathe, in her house killing her on the spot, police said.

Lonare later consumed Newyon poison and also stabbed himself. He was rushed to Sinnar Municipal Hospital where he succumbed to injuries, hospital sources said.

The motive behind the murder and suicide was yet to be ascertained, but police suspected the murdered and victim had sexual relationship which might have led to the incident.
