M&M launches Bolero
ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU

MUMBAI, AUGUST 4: Utility vehicle major, Mahindra & Mahindra launched its utility vehicle Bolero GLX with a price tag of Rs 4,98,503 (ex-showroom Mumbai and inclusive of sales tax and octroi) which is chepaer than its competitors - Sumo DLX, Toyota Qualis and Tata Safari,.

Production of the new vehicle, the first with an independent front suspension, should be around 800 a month and would be increased depending upon the demand, Durante said.

He said the urban market was undergoing a transformation as buyers were increasingly inclined towards good-looking utility vehicles. Durante said there would be no booking for the vehicle. Instead, it has placed vehicles at the dealers to enable the customers to test drive before deciding on the vehicle. The vehicle would have a four-wheel option for use on harsher terrain.

A premium model, with a global positioning system (with Delhi and Mumbai MAPS) rear entertainment system, including a console mounted with a DVD player, would also be unveiled in the next two-three months at a cost of Rs seven lakhs.

This would be the first vehicle in the country to be fitted either with the GPS or the DVD entertainment system.
