Gopal returns with another videotape
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

CHENNAI, AUG 11: Journalist R.R. Gopal, negotiating the release of Kannada film icon Rajkumar and three others held hostage by forest brigand Veerappan, returned here today with yet another video cassette containing the outlaw's response to acceptance of his major demands by Tamil Nadu and Karnataka governments.

Gopal met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi soon after his arrival here after nearly a week in the brigand's hideout where he met Veerappan and the hostages.

Emerging from the meeting with Karunanidhi, he told reporters that he had given the video cassette to the Chief Minister.

Karunanidhi said Gopal gave him a detailed account of the talks he had held with the brigand and said after meeting Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna, he would give an account of the same.
