UP first state to sell sugar through online sale system

NEW DELHI, AUG 11: Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in the country to sell sugar through online computerised sale system.

State Minister for Cane Development and Sugar Industry N K S Gaur inaugurated an online computerised sugar sale system at the sale office of UP Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation at Khel Gaon here, a UP Information Centre press release said.

The online sugar sale system will now connect the sale offices of the UP Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd and the UP State Sugar Corporation at Lucknow and New Delhi with the respective sugar selling agents.

The Minister highlighted the importance of the computerised sale system and said the online trading, beside maintaining transparaency, would fetch higher sale realisation.

Consequently, he said, it will be helpful in liquidating sugarcane price dues.
