LONDON, AUGUST 11: West Indies became the under-15 cricket world champions when they defeated Pakistan by two wickets in the final at Lord's last evening.

Put in to bat, Pakistan had a hesitant start and lost first four wickets for 69 runs. The slide continued and Pakistan were 149 for nine before a 26 runs last wicket stand between Talal Zia, son of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Gen Tauqir Zia, and Shehreyar Khan took the score to 175.

Zulqarnain top-scored with 48 with Shahid Yousaf contributing 46 runs.

West Indies rode on a fine half-century by Assad Fudadin to reach the target with 23 balls to spare. Fudadin played the perfect anchoring role to see his side through to victory. His 55 off 82 balls was studded with nine fours and won him the man of the match award.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 175 (Shahid Yousaf 46, Zulqarnain 48, Santokie 2-34, Punoo 2-32, Marshall 2-27, Maraj 2-15) lost to West Indies 176-8 (A Fudadin 55).
