Don't divide Valley on communal lines -- Hizbul
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 20: Hizbul Mujahideen today threatened to use force to scuttle any move aimed at dividing Kashmir Valley on communal lines.

``We are eager to see those who have migrated from Kashmir to return to the Valley as they are permanent residents of the state. We will not allow division of Kashmir on communal lines,'' Hizbul Mujahideen spokesman Commander Masood said in a statement here.

Reacting to Jammu and Kashmir government's action plan which envisages setting up transit settlements and camps at three different places in the Valley to rehabilitate Kashmiri migrants, the spokesman said: ``We reject the plan and will use force, if necessary, to thwart such a plan which is aimed at dividing Kashmir on communal lines.'' The plan was approved by the state cabinet on Friday.

The spokesman said Kashmiri Pandits and other minorities were forced to migrate from Kashmir in 1990 under a ``conspiracy hatched by the then governor of the state Jagmohan.''
