SINGAPORE, AUG 20: Pakistan beat New Zealand by 12 runs in a truncated Singapore Challenge triangular series opener on Sunday. Pakistan totalled 191 for six in a game reduced by rain to 25 overs per side, helped by some bold strokeplay from Man-of-the-Match Ijaz Ahmed (49) and Yousuf Youhana (46).

Pakistan's bowlers then weathered some powerful hitting by New Zealand before dismissing them for 179. Pakistan, who face South Africa on Wednesday, were fined 15 per cent of their match fees for a slow bowling rate.
