Somnath flays George for supporting Trinamool
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

SANTINIKETAN (WB), SEPT 10: CPI(M) leader and MP, Somnath Chatterjee, today criticised the BJP-led Central Government for adopting "anti-people" and "anti-poor" policies, and the Trinamool Congress for spreading violence and terrorism in different parts of West Bengal.

Addressing a public meeting organised by the ruling Left Front at Bolepur, Chatterjee said the Defence Minister George Fernandes played the role of a tout by supporting the false allegations of the Trinamool Congress against the Left Front government.

George had no time to shed tears for Christians who were killed in the past two years, but he rushed to Midnapore to please Trinamool Congress leader Mamata, he added.

Leaders of CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc criticised the electronic and print media for highlighting the "misdeeds" of Trinamool Congress and maligning the Left Front.
