Thomas Cook, TCI merger called off
Yet another high-profile corporate acquisition has fallen through. The Rs 75 crore travel firm Thomas Cook (India) has announced that its proposed Rs 120 crore merger with domestic inbound tour operator Travel Corporation of India has been called off.




IOC on the verge of payment default
Hit hard by spiralling global oil prices, Indian Oil Corporation has sent an SOS to government that it has nearly exhausted all its borrowing limits for importing crude and was on the verge of default.




STD to be cheaper from October 1
Government on Thursday announced new telephone charges, effective from October 1 by slashing STD charges by up to 33%, but leaving the local call charges and rentals untouched.
