Hegde, Patel to persuade Paswan to stay
Express News Service

Bangalore, Oct 2: Senior JD (U) leaders Ramakrishna Hegde and J.H. Patel on Sunday expressed confidence of ironing out the misunderstanding between senior party leaders and Union Ministers Sharad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan.

Efforts were on to persuade Union Communication Minister Ram Vilas Paswan not to leave the party they said, at Patel's residence. Paswan had said in Chandigarh on Saturday that he would float a new party on November 23.

``Four of us will meet here or in Delhi to resolve the differences which are not fundamental, ideological or personal. The differences are because of a lack of communication,'' Hegde said.

On Paswan's announcement of floating a new party, Hegde said, ``Naturally, he is putting pressure so that matters could be resolved as early as possible.''

Later, Patel told mediapersons that the differences between the two leaders might have arisen due to `personal ego', and voiced confidence on resolving the issue. ``Paswan is not going to leave the party, and that's the reality,'' Patel said.
