PM's sister feels cheated by Agra BJP
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

AGRA, NOV 3: Sister of Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee Kamla Dixit is enraged at the way her daughter-in-law has been treated by the BJP. According to Dixit, the city unit of the party had initially approved the latter's candidature for the coming local body elections, but today when she went to file her nomination at the collectorate, her name was nowhere in the list.

The daughter-in-law's name had apparently been proposed by UP BJP president Kalraj Mishra. Later, she had gone to meet Vajpayee, and the latter too had endorsed her candidature, wishing her all the best.

Dixit accused three BJP leaders of Agra of being responsible for today's embarrassment. She told The Indian Express that BJP leaders had come to them asking them to contest the polls, and that they had not gone seeking a ticket.

Initially, Krishna Birmani had been listed as a candidate in place of Dixit's daughter-in-law. Today, the collectorate was rife with rumours that Birmani was from the same caste as Union Home Minister L.K. Advani, and that the latter had himself cleared her name. But at the last moment, Birmani's name was struck off the list, and Asha Vohra found herself included.

Vora is apparently the choice of an RSS leader. An enraged Dixit feels this shows that the BJP is losing out to the RSS in Agra. It is very sad, she added, that the Prime Minister did not have any authority over party matters and that the RSS controlled the BJP.
