Rlys-MP Colts' tie ends in a draw

NOV 20: The three-day match between Railways and Madhya Pradesh ended in a tame draw with Railways gaining five points due to the first innings lead of 120 runs in the Central Zone (Under-19) Cooch Behar Trophy cricket match here on Monday.

Both the teams have 18 points apiece after playing three matches each.

Railways were 59 for four in their second innings when stumps were drawn.

Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 72 for three MP surrendered to the bowling of Surinder Singh, who bagged five wickets for 78 runs, while Railways' skipper Raza Ali took three for 63.

Jitendra Likhar was the top scorer for MP with 42 runs while his collegues failed to put up any resistence in their team's first innings score of 227 all out giving the visitors a lead of 120 runs.

Brief Scores: Railways: 347 and 59 for 4 (Raza Ali 23 n.o., O P Yadav 2-18, M Singh 2-26); Madhya Pradesh: 227 a.o. (J Likhar 42, Jatin Saxena 25, M Mishra 24, Surinder Singh 5-78, Raza Ali 3-63).
