Bollywood-underworld nexus surfaces in LS NEW DELHI, DEC 18: BJP MP Vijay Goel today demanded a thorough investigation into the connections of the film industry with the underworld. Raising the issue during the zero hour in the Lok Sabha, Goel voiced serious concern over the reported threats made by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel to members of the Mumbai film industry and demanded that producers, directors and actors be provided security. The underworld, backed by Pakistan's ISI, was holding Bollywood to ransom and dictating terms like which actors and actresses should be cast in films, he said. Referring to the recent arrest of Nazeem Rizvi, producer of the film Chori Chori, Chupke Chupke for his alleged links with the underworld, Goel said the Mumbai police should conduct a proper investigation to expose other such links. He also mentioned actor Salman Khan (who plays the lead in the film) who was also questioned by the police. His party colleague Vijay Kumar Malhotra wanted the Ministry of External Affairs and the Maharashtra government to take serious note of the operations of the gangsters in Mumbai.
