DEC 25: For those who miss the leisurely pace of shopping in this age of instantaneous buying on the Net, a new city specific portal called MumbaiBest.com has now been launched to give e-shopping a new dimension.Using sophisticated software, the portal has created a virtual layout of the famous DN Road which stretches from CST station to Flora Fountain. All the heritage buildings, hoardings and prominent shops are clearly seen on the site as one `drives' on the road using just the mouse to move on.
``If somebody wants to actually stop by the Nike shop on the virtual DN Road, then the user can actually go right inside the shop and have a panaromic view of the shop products in order to buy them online before proceeding ahead on the DN Road,'' informed the CEO, Manjunath P Bijjahalli while talking to the press today.
Bijjahalli heads the new media venture of the Deccan Yellow Pages Group, Indias-Best.Com Pvt Ltd. The MumbaiBest.com portal is a part of this group. The company had earlier launched the BangaloreBest and ChennaiBest portals that cater to these cities.
`Very soon we will also be creating virtual walk through of Linking Road and Bhulabai Desai Road as I am sure a lot of retailers would like to advertise this way,' he added.
Apart from virtual roads, the site will also feature other necessary details of the city, like hotels and restaurants, bus routes, shopping marts, pubs and cinema houses.
