Bosnia may need to put in extra effort
Express news service

Kolkata, January 21: Bosnia can be infants in the game mastered by their superior rivals Chile. But if their resounding 3-2 quarterfinal win over Uruguay in the Sahara Cup was any indication about their latent talent, Nelson Acosta’s men might have to put in that extra effort to ensure a smooth sailing into the finals.

In the run up to the crucial tie tomorrow, both teams however will be depleted by the absence of two of their key players. The Balkans will miss their dependable defendersOmer Joldic and Asmer Ikanovic while Chile will be handicapped by the absence of mid-fielders Marco Villaseca and Cristian Uribe. But unlike their Chilean counterparts the Bosnian team management sounded optimistic. “Yeah, we have been handicapped. But we have a good bench strength to replace them,” said skipper Dzelaludin Muharemovic on Sunday.

Moreover, he added that since his team had defeated a Latin American side, Uruguay, in the quarterfinal, they can pose a challenge or two for Chile on the morrow. “Since both Chile and Uruguay have a similar style of play we are looking forward to an exciting battle.” Bosnia, placed 78th in the Fifa rankings, notched up a memorable golden goal victory against Uruguay in the quarterfinals.
