WIJK AAN ZEE, JANUARY 21: Viswanathan Anand on Sunday drew his seventh round game against Alexander Morozevich of Russia in the Corus 2001 International Grandmasters tournament here. There was a lot of action in the game, the young as Morozevich played very boldly. Anand also gave a great exhibition of interesting chess. Finally in a rather tense situation where neither wanted to push things, they drew after 33 moves. Anand now has four points from seven games and has drawn his last five rounds. Earlier on Saturday, Anand had drew with Vladimir Kramnik. Kramnik, white, and Anand, black, took three and half hours and 35 moves for the draw and left the issue of superiority for the chess World to debate until they met next time. Anand’s selection from black was the Nimzo-Indian Defence. Kramnik was having the bishop pair after the 10th move and between moves 15 and 25, the Russian spent a lot of time falling behind by at least 30 minutes. But he had created some problems for the Indian on the Kingside. However, Anand, characteristically found all the defensive moves. Copyright © 2001 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
