6 Armymen hurt in blast
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

Srinagar, March 13: Six soldiers, including an officer, were injured when militants blew up an Army vehicle with a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) in Anantnag district of south Kashmir early today, official sources said.

Quoting initial reports, the sources said militants set off the IED, planted on the main road at village Veilu in Kokernag 85 kms from here, around 8 am when an Army column was on move in the area.

Six soldiers travelling in the vehicle suffered injuries in the powerful blast and were taken to the Army base hospital in Srinagar for treatment, the sources said.

The whole area was immediately cordoned off by the Army to track down the militants.
