The explosion took place last evening when a group of people were busy removing debris of a house which was gutted in a gunbattle between militants and security forces at Chinkipora, 55 kms from here, they said.

Some explosive material, apparently a grenade, which had remained unexploded during the encounter went off when the people were removing the debris, they said.

The injured identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Malla, Mohammad Ramzan Ganai, Rayees Ahamad Ganai and his sister Jamsheeda Bano were rushed to a hospital.

A top Lashker-e-Toiba (LET) militant, hiding in the house, was killed in the encounter which took place on October 31 in the village.
