| | | C.K. Raju from Thrissur-Please understand the meaning of Swadeshi. Mahatma Gandhi had a purpose for the swadeshi movement. That is to kick out the foreign devil ruling India. But things have changed in India. the foreign devil has left India , but not before firmly implanting the domestic devils in power. To help swadeshis we need Videsh's investement. If India does not take it, then somebody else will. If India wants to be like another Sudan or Bangalore like Darfur , it's very easy. Ask the devils in power in Karnataka. They sure have plans to make it happen.

| | | An idiot like deve gowda cannot tranish the image of Bangalore. There are crores others who welcome microsoft to work in Bangalore. According to you then, YSR will not allow microsoft to work in Andhra and leftists in Bengal, though Bengal is not a fancied destination for IT. What say Mr.Citizen ?

| | | Microsoft has to increase its manpower and investment in developing countries like India, because unlike Girmitia Mazadur 'cyber-collies' will not be able to inter the Holy American land. They are indeed planning to let them work from no-mans-land sea.

| | | When will the politicians learn that bringing foreign companies does not mean you are anti-farmer. Can someone please think how the lives of farmers be improved. Giving free electricity, subsidies, free clothes or food will not change their lives. Helping them to educate their children, providing them job opportunities is the only way to improve their lives. Even for Agro based industries we have to use Technology to increase productivity. We need to have advanced storage techniques to export our food products. Politicians want the rural poor to remain illeterate, they can be easily manipulated and cheated. By opposing foreign companies they gain sympathy of rural voters but they have done nothing to uplift them. Many villages are now being adopted by corporates and slowly their infrastructure will improve. We dont have the money to start manufacturing units. All we have is our smart brains to contribute to the world economy. We write software for thousands of companies around the world . We cant make money by ploughing our fields all our life. My grandfather was a farmer but I am an engineer. Is it a sin to work for MNC's or anti swadeshi? I am from a middle class family. | | | This is with response to Mr.Raju of Thrissur. So according to you we should drive away all the MNC's from this country. All the educated engineers & scientists should leave the country and work abroad. Farmers should continue to live as farmers and commit suicide unable to educate their children. You are a pathetic left party sympathiser Mr.Raju. When are you going to wake up from your deep sleep. Do you think your revered left parties are going to create jobs for millions of graduates in India? I know for a matter of fact that several farmer's children are now working in MNC's and software companies in Cities and are supporting their families with their income. Thats what we need in India, more companies to invest and create jobs. We have more tax payers to the govt who in turn should improve infrastructure for the comman man. Rich dont become richer and poor poorer Mr.Raju, its the poor who become rich. If you support left parties everyone becomes poor, and the poor will simply die. Yes Microsoft is making profit by bringing jobs to India but are we also not benefitted. The term 'swadeshi' does not mean shut your doors to MNC's. We have been trading for 2000 years in India. | | | Mr Gates, Don't you ever think of investing in B'lore. Deve Gowda would not let you. Posted by: Citizen, India, 18-10-2005 at 2013 hours IST | | | • | Now "The Road Ahead" does not pass through India !
| | | For the UPA Govt. it is hardly a matter to feel happy about since Microsoft Dynamics, Windows Server Centre etc. would not be oriented towards the welfare of farmers. Indian vote- bank largely consisting of semi-literate and illiterate rural population, mostly engaged in agriculture, Bill Gates might find India no longer as investment-friendly as it was during the NDA Govt’s tenure when Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister of Andhra. Even though more farmers committed suicide during the succeeding Congress rule in the State, Naidu, who did India proud internationally, lost the election for allegedly neglecting the Andhra farmers. India needs leaders like Laloo who rubbishes IT as IT-YT ! Microsoft’s mammoth investment programme would create jobs for educated middle class and not for the farmers. Besides, our Leftists would definitely oppose Microsoft’s entry into India since it is an American multinational which, according to them, intends to exploit cheap Indian labour to siphon out profit to America.. With the Leftists and the likes of Laloo ruling the roost this country is doomed to backwardness.

| | | Microsoft is quite upright when it comes to revealing head-count. Yes, we too are aware that the Indian Federal Minister Dayanidhi Maran is also one amongst this new head-count, the deal fixed in the land of *liberty*, the land where corporates happen to be the most privileged liberated citizens, unrestrained by any civilisation or states, completely autonomous. This liberation is at the cost of *freedom* of those who are destined to suffer at the hands of these corporate citizens. What a paradox ! Its never a matter of pride nor shame for millions of Indian citizens, seeing their minister sitting atop like a big fool on the advertisements of Microsoft, because many never care about these representatives who are written-off from the active social life at grassroots. Sensibility buried long ago, there are not even simple economists around who could do a plain calculation on the foreign exchange involved in buying and maintaining proprietary licenses of the giant monopoly. Such is the pathetic state of the nation, which once used to take pride with national themes like "swadeshi". With those responsible pretending fast asleep, events like these are sure to evoke greater alertness. Posted by: CK Raju, Thrissur , India, 18-10-2005 at 1808 hours IST | | | | | |
