Tarun Gogoi Assam Chief Minister

Guwahati, May 18: Tarun Gogoi, who steered Congress to a massive victory in the Assembly elections, was on Friday sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam.

Governor S K Sinha administered the oath of office and secrecy to Gogoi at a function at Raj Bhawan.

Dressed in his characteristic spotless white Khadikurta-Pyjama, the new Chief Minister took oath in the name of God in his mother tongue Assamese.

Gogoi's wife, Dolly Gogoi, and the newly elected Legislators besides, party leaders were present at the swearing in ceremony. (PTI)
