Being a star son and a star sibling has its fair share of downsides too. Ask Bobby Deol, he should know. The younger of Dharmendra’s sons was barely out of his teens when he had stardom thrust upon him in the form of three plum roles in Barsaat, Gupt and Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. And the media, which, as always, had been waiting for a new star son to lionise, readily took him under its wing. Of course, it also proved to be his greatest undoing, for all the hype raised audience expectations from the films sky-high. The last, as it turned out, proved to be a box-office dud. The first two, though, didn’t do badly, considering all the hype. Barsaat was an average grosser, and Gupt went one better, it was a smashing hit.
