Varanasi, October 3: Seven people drowned when a boat ferrying them capsized midstream on river Ganga near Prahlad Ghat in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Locals rescued 15 people who were admitted to various hospitals, a Home Department spokesman said.
The boat was carrying 24 people when it sank, he said adding all the seven bodies had been fished out from the river.
