Five killed by blueline bus in Delhi

New Delhi, October 7: Five women were killed and five others critically injured after a blueline ran over them in Badarpur area, triggering protests by onlookers who indulged in stone pelting and tried to set afire the bus.

The incident took place when the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle while coming out of the bus terminal in the area and rammed into the people crossing a road, police said.

The injured were rushed to the nearby Apollo Hospital and AIIMS.

Following the incident, onlookers indulged in stone pelting and blocked the road. They also tried to set afire the bus but were stopped by police personnel present on the spot.

Extra police force has been rushed to the area to bring the situation under control.

The driver and conductor of the bus running on route no. 460 are absconding.
