New Delhi, October 10: The BJP said the mid-term elections were inevitable and the so-called ‘truce’ between the UPA and Left on the Indo-US nuclear deal was merely a ‘commercial break’.

"It is nothing but a commercial break and the break is intended to fulfil the commercial interest of both parties at the cost of the country", BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

The saffron party alleged that both UPA and the Left are resorting to a tactic of ‘buying time’ for election preparations.

"They both never had faith on each other. It was an unholy alliance without the confidence of the people. Now, they are prolonging the people's mandate at the cost of the country", Naqvi said.

The BJP, which had declared the country was in election mode had on Tuesday announced finalising of candidates panels in almost 350 Lok Sabha constituencies.

The party has plans to rake up the Ram Setu and the national security as the two major issues in the next elections.
