Chandigarh, November 18 The National Skin Hospital is planning to conduct a special campaign for the children of tricity, plus adjoining region up to Ludhiana, Patiala, Rajpura, Ambala and Shimla on November 25.

Under the campaign, the children would be provided free consultations for skin by leading dermatologist and dermatolaser surgeons of the country.

Free skin testing wherever necessary, will also be carried out. The campaign will be held on the hospital premises in Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula.

This will be the biggest specialty campaign providing skin consultation for children in the history of tricity.

The chief consultant of the hospital, Dr Vikas Sharma, said skin disorders are on the rise in children and adolescents. “An increasing number of school children have been detected with problems like psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hair loss, hirsutism, fungal infections and skin tuberculosis, etc. Lack of early diagnosis, inadequate medication or treatment for symptomatic relief by general practitioners further aggravates the problem,” Dr Sharma said.
