The Indian National Overseas Congress (INOC) urged the voters to "re-assert their faith in Gandhian values by repudiating forces currently engaged in divisive politics", which was "spilling over" to diaspora also.
The ongoing elections in the state were a "golden opportunity" for voters to correct the situation, INOC's General Secretary George Abraham said in a statement.
INOC President Dr Surinder Malhotra urged voters to bring back the Gandhian value of "peace and harmony" and dynamism for which the State was known.
The current state of intimidation and fear must be reversed, he added, asking voters to make a right decision.
