Ludhiana, December 31 Huntsman International India Private Ltd conducted a seminar on ‘Save the Future a step ahead’ today.

Delegates from the yarn and fabric dyeing houses in Ludhiana and the adjoining areas took part in the seminar. Tejinder Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer of Focal Point, Punjab Pollution Control Board, was also invited for the seminar.

The firms which participated in the seminar included the Vardhman Group, Nahar Group, Abhishek Industries, JCT Fabrics etc. From Huntsman International, Ajay Kanwar (Deputy Business Area Head - South Asia), Naveen Juneja (Head Regional Marketing Dyes - South Asia) and Shailesh Chandra (Sales Head - North) spoke at the seminar. They discussed the reactive dyes which are eco friendly, and requires less salt for cotton dyeing.

The speakers said that this eventually reduces the load on the effluent treatment plant. Also, these dyes consume less water for dyeing one kilogram of cotton fabric as compared to other dyes available in the market, said Ajay Kanwar and Naveen Juneja. The speakers pointed out that water scarcity will be a critical problem in the next 50 years. Huntsman International, apart from selling dyes and chemicals, is taking steps to help improving the environment and focus on social welfare, said the experts.

They highlighted that with the use of these products, the problem of pollution could be lessened to a considerable extent.
