“There will be no opportunity for people (in the PDSF), who are stealthily entering into alliances and paving the way for CPM to win,” Mamata said.
Speaking at the state conference of the Trinamool’s SC/ST/ OBC cell at Gaighata in North 24 Parganas, Mamata said the PDSF was the only alternative to the Left Front in West Bengal. “Our doors are open for anybody who wants to join us. Everything is fair and transparent in this Front,” she added.
The Trinamool also expressed its appreciation of the Forward Bloc’s rally at Singur and said more such rallies should be held there. The Trinamool also would continue its stir in Singur and called for relentless agitation.
“We have learnt that the Barasat-Bongaon highway will need around 40,000 acres of land. We will not let this happen. They cannot take fertile farmlands. Let them begin with industrialisation by first opening the closed industries in the state,” said Mamata.
In order to drum up support for the PDSF in the forthcoming panchayat elections, Mamata said, “The government should see that reservations for SCs and STs in jobs are properly implemented. Steps should be taken to see that these backward communities can avail of certificates within 45 days of applying.”
