Nine killed as train rams into van in West Bengal

Digha, West Bengal, January 15: Nine persons were on Tuesday killed and two others injured when a Digha-bound local train rammed into a motorised cycle van at an unmanned railway crossing in Midnapur east district.

The accident occurred at 11.30 am when the train hit the van which was crossing the track at unmanned Balisahi level crossing, 100 km from Ramnagar station under South Eastern Railway, railway sources said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital at Contai.
