Kolkata, February 22 Jyoti Sahu, who is taking her Madhyamik examinations, has alleged that there was an attempt to abduct her when she was going to the examination centre on Friday. A student of Entally Hindu Balika Vidyalaya and resident of Shambhu Babu Lane, Jyoti was on her way to the Christopher Road Government Sponsored High School when a few unidentified people dragged her into a taxi, she told the police.

In her complaint lodged with the Entally police, the girl said the abductors slapped a handkerchief on her nose after which she fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, Jyoti found herself on platform number nine of the Howrah railway station. She immediately approached the GRP which took her to the examination centre.

The president of the Madhyamik board, Mamata Roy, said Jyoti was allowed to write the examination though she arrived an hour late and was also given extra time.

While the Entally police couldn’t say where the incident took place exactly, officers said they are investigating the matter.

Jyoti’s parents refused to comment on the matter and didn’t allow her to speak to the media either, saying she has a paper tomorrow and can’t be disturbed.
