Delhi Police nab burglar from Jorasanko

Kolkata, February 27 A team of Delhi Police nabbed a burglar from Jorasanko on Wednesday. Mohammed Jasim, alias Kalu, alias Bali, was arrested from his relative’s house and produced at Bankshal court. After the Delhi Police got a transit remand, he was taken to Delhi. “Our Delhi counterparts did not share much information with us. All we know is there was a burglary in Delhi recently. One of the accused was believed to have come to Kolkata,” said Vineet Goyel, DC (headquarters).

According to sources, miscreants decamped with Rs 20 lakh during a burglary on February 9. Later, the Delhi Police got a tip off that one of them had come to Kolkata and was staying at Sambhu Chatterjee Street, in Jorasanko.

A four-member team from Delhi, led by Sub-Inspector Ved Prakash, arrived today. They were all in plain clothes. Posing as his friends, the team entered Jasim’s uncle’s house and arrested him. Rs 10 lakh were recovered from him.
