Kolkata, March 4 Manish Agarwal (22), whose decomposed body was found seven days after he was killed, was held captive for two days before being murdered, a senior CID officer said on Tuesday.

Agarwal, who went missing on February 21, was a chartered accountant aspirant.

“According to the postmortem report, he was not murdered on the day he went missing,” said DIG (CID) Neeraj Nayan Pandey.

He added, “There were wounds all over his body. He was probably strangled with rope.”

CID sources said business rivalry might be behind Agarwal’s murder as he was in the share business.

Meanwhile, the CID also released three telephone numbers for information regarding the murder. The numbers were 9433325094, 9903208100 and 9432273951.

“The identities of those providing information would not be revealed and could also be rewarded,” Pandey said.
