Mumbai, March 13 The D N Nagar police arrested Anubhav Kapoor (27), an actor working with Balaji Productions, early Thursday morning after he rammed his car into an autorickshaw, injuring the driver, Shankar Prasad (22).

According to Police Sub-Inspector Firoz Pathan of the D N Nagar police station, Kapoor, under the influence of alcohol, was speeding towards his house in Lokhandwala Complex from the Andheri station road at 4.50 am.

When he reached the Indian Oil Signal near Aarti Junction, he lost control of his black Hyundai Accent and crashed the car into a rickshaw travelling towards Juhu.

While the passenger in the autorickshaw escaped unhurt, the driver, Shankar Prasad (22), suffered minor injuries on his hands and head. Prasad was rushed to Cooper Hospital and was discharged after treatment.

Kapoor was later arrested on charges of drunk and rash driving. He was presented before the Andheri magistrate’s court and later released on bail.

“We had added the charge of drinking and driving since prima facie he appeared to be drunk. We are, however, awaiting his blood test reports from Cooper Hospital,” said Senior Police Inspector Ajendra Thakur.
