Souvik Roy Chowdhury won the men’s TT singles

Kolkata, March 31 Souvik Roy Chowdhury won the men’s singles title, while the women’s singles trophy went to Priya Saha (picture, top left) on the concluding day of the Calcutta Table Tennis Championship 2008 at the Kshudiram Anusilan Kendra today. Souvik got the better of Arijit Ghatak 4-2 in the title showdown, while Priya saw off the challenge from Suparna Bhattacharya 4-2 in the women’s round. Meanwhile, the boys’ singles title went to Kaushik Das (picture, top right) and Suparna Bhattacharjee walked away with the girls’ singles crown. The tournament was organised by the Bengal Table Tennis Association (BTTA). Other winners: Ritika Kundu (Nursery Girls Singles), Abhimanyu Mitra (Nursery Boys Singles), Ria Dutta (Cadet Girls Singles), Senarito Chowdhury (Cadet Boys Singles), Ria Dutta (Sub-junior Girls Singles), Tirthanath Daripa (Sub-junior Boys Singles).
