Mumbai, April 4: In a boost to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray who had targeted North Indians, Mumbai police has dismissed as ‘false and malicious’ a complaint of criminal intimidation filed against him by Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

After investigations into the complaint filed on February 3, the police have concluded that there was not much substance in Singh's claim, DCP Brijesh Singh said on Thursday night.

Singh, SP general secretary, had filed a complaint with the Azad Maidan Police Station after MNS activists disrupted a press conference by him in the area on February 2.

In his complaint, Singh had alleged that sloganeering activists had threatened him by using Thackeray's name while being whisked away by security personnel from the venue.
