Kolkata, April 8 The principal of Presidency College, Sanjib Ghosh, was gheraoed for half-an-hour by about 20 members of the Independents Consolidation (IC).

They were demanding action against Subhrojeet Banerjee, an SFI supporter. IC members alleged that after a heated argument between Subhrojeet and Debojyoti, an IC supporter, the latter was allegedly beaten up by the former.

IC supporters went to the principal’s office demanding immediate action. The principal, however, refused to set up a disciplinary committee and instead appealed to the students to solve the matter by themselves.

Sanjib Ghosh, however, said that there was no such problem and that it was just a minor scuffle between two groups.
