Admissions to UBS soon, says Dean

Chandigarh, April 08 The long wait for students interested in taking admission in the University Business School (UBS), Panjab University, seems to have come to an end. Dean University Instructions (DUI), Prof S K Kulkarni said that the admission would begin in another fifteen days.

The calls were supposed to come after two months ago after the CAT entrance results.

Though the officials from the department are not ready to give any reason for the delay, sources maintain that the department has been delaying the calls expecting ways to overcome the loss from the NRI sponsored seats.

After the HC order of cancelling the NRI sponsored seats, the department is expecting a loss of Rs 22 crores.

Prof Kulkarni said, “We do admit that the there has been delay in the calls. However, we were facing some unavoidable administrative problems that caused the delay.”

Sources said the University is busy restoring ways to come in terms with the losses while the students are suffering. Many students have already deposited over Rs 1 lakh as security with other private institutes for the seats.
