Heavy security during Trinamool, SUCI bandh

Kolkata, April 20 The state government has taken all the measures to maintain peace during the12 hour bandh by Trinamool Congress and Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) on Monday. The bandh has been called to protest against the soaring prices of essential commodities and the alleged reign of terror unleashed by CPM supporters at Nandigram.

“There will be adequate police arrangements on the roads and we will deploy both Kolkata police and RAF to ensure peace,” said Gautam Mohan Chakrabarty, Commissioner of Police, Kolkata.

The state police have also taken similar measures. “There will be a heavy police security all over the state. Police will also be deployed to guard important movements,” said Raj Kanojia, IG, Law and Order.
