“The examination will be held in three slots each of two hours,” said Siddharth Dutta, Chairman of JEEB. On the issue of holding the exam on Saturday, he said that there is nothing wrong to conduct the examination on a Saturday. It is only since 1962 that the examination was held on Sundays. Earlier, examinations were held on Saturdays and Sundays.
The board officials assured that they will come out with the results of the examination before June 15.
The board was facing difficulty in assigning a date of the examination because of panchayat polls in May. The board could not conduct examination on Sunday, May 25 as well because entrance examination of other states was scheduled on the same day.
