Kolkata, April 30 The Calcutta High Court rejected a petition on Wednesday filed by the Todi family asking for a copy of the FIR lodged by the CBI in connection with the Rizwanur Rehman case.

Advocate Jaymalya Bagchi, counsel of Ashok and Pradip Todi, moved the plea in the court.

Advocate Kalyan Banerjee, counsel of the Rehman family, contended that this was not the procedure to get a copy of the FIR. Banerjee pointed out that the affidavit should have been signed by the petitioners only and not by the representatives of the Todi family.

The petition did not provide details like how and where the Todis had applied for the copy of the FIR and why the chief metropolitan magistrate court had refused to hand over a copy of the FIR, he added.

Dutta asked the Todis to file a fresh petition and scheduled May 12 for the final hearing.
