New Delhi, May 7 Even as Delhi University gears up to implement 27 per cent quota for the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) from the next academic year, its reputed Faculty of Management Studies will give the quotas a miss this year.

The institute has decided against increasing seats for implementation of OBC quota this academic session since it has already completed its admission process for the next academic year, Dean J K Mitra said. “It is not possible for us to redo the whole admission process,” he said.

The institute has decided to accommodate more students from the OBC category in the next academic session to compensate for the non-implementation this year, Mitra said. “We began the admission process much before the Supreme Court gave its verdict on OBC reservation,” he said. “As per rules, we did not even ask the applicants to mention if they belong to OBC category.” More than 60,000 students applied to FMS this year and the final results were announced on March 20.
