Bangalore,May 16: Voters in four villages in three districts have boycotted polling during the second phase of Karnataka assembly elections in progress in Karnataka on Friday, protesting lack of basic amenities and "mix-up" in voters list, police said.

Residents of Banagere and Kotehal in Chitradurga refused to exercise their franchise protesting mix-up of names in voters list. Some voters of these villages had been listed in a polling station located six kms away from their village.

Even as authorities arranged transport, they rejected it, insisting that they be allowed to vote in their village, police said.

Hallivenkatapura villagers in Raichur district and almost all in Papenahalli in Chitradurga boycotted polling protesting lack of basic amenities.

In Papenahalli only four people voted after officials assured them that they would look into their demands.
