Kolkata, May 16 For the family of 65-year-old Apurba Roychoudhury, personnel manager , Loomtex Engineering Pvt Limited, who was battered to death on Thursday, life will never be the same again. Darkness seems to have descended on the second floor flat of the family in Jadavpur. His wife is inconsolable.

Relatives remember him as a very cool-headed man. His daughter-in-law says, “Baba never lost his temper and was a family man. He never discussed work at home.”

While his family lived in Jadavpur, Roychoudhury lived in the mill quarters in Titagarh, visiting his family twice a week. Roychoudhury’s body was brought from Titagarh to Kolkata on Friday morning for cremation. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson. His son works for CESE Limited in New Cossipore.

Choudhury had earlier worked with Birla Carbide and Bally Jute Mill before joining Loomtex Engineering Pvt Limited in Titagarh four years ago.
