Kolkata, May 18 Around 800 former servicemen of the Indian Air Force (IAF) landed plum jobs at the two-day placement fair organised by the IAF on Friday and Saturday at the Air Force Station in Barrackpore. The fair targeted the IAF officers who had retired from active service. Around 23 companies from sectors like insurance, health, manufacturing and security companies participated in the fair. Nearly 2,500 IAF personnel, except pilots, were registered for it.
“It is our responsibility to resettle them after we release them. And we only do so, when we think they are fit to be released,” said Air Marshal S K Bhan.
The fair is the second of its kind in the country, the first being held in New Delhi in September last year. It was attended by 48 companies and around 500 people received job offers, said placement officer R K Srivastav.
