Kolkata, May 26 The All Faith Forum in association with Diocese of Calcutta released a book ‘Amethystine Luminescence’ on Monday to felicitate bishop, PSP Raju who is about to complete his tenure. Present at the function were Transport Minister Subhash Chakraborty, Deputy CM of Jharkhand, Sudhir Mahato, Sanjay Budhia of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Faiyaz Ahmed Khan, MMiC, along with other known personalities of the city.
Retired Reverend PSP Raju is originally from Andhra Pradesh. He wanted to be a civil servant. His father was a priest and he was the youngest of three siblings. He made through the Civil services examinations and was recruited as Regional Assistant Director, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Corporation. In 1967 he decided to become a priest and joined the Chennai order. He became the bishop of Kolkata in 1999.
