Kolkata, June 11 If your palate had been longing for a juicy McChicken burger or a creamy Mcswirl, your wait is over. McDonald's India is opening its second and largest outlet in eastern India on June 12 at Mani Square on EM Bypass. Good news for kids, detective Conan is the theme of the kid's meal this month. Vikram Bakshi, Managing Director and joint venture partner of McDonald's India (North and East region) said, "We are investing Rs 100 crore in eastern India and opening five outlets by this fiscal."

McDonald's India is a 50:50 joint venture between the McDonald's Corporation and Connaught Plaza Restaurants headed by Bakshi. The new outlet is a 200-seater restaurant. Speaking about the restaurant at Park Street, which was closed after a blast in 2007, Bakshi said, "Nearly 5,000 people thronged that outlet every day. The accident had raised concerns in the global McDonald's family. We are reopening it before the festive season.”

The company also aimed to acquire sites in Durgapur, Asansol, Darjeeling and Siliguri, he added.
