Kolkata, June 12 Somdutta Mukherjee and Debleena Chakrabarty, two out of the five Jadavpur University students, who were harassed by the police on June 9, met Minister for Public Works Department Kshiti Goswami on Thursday and invited him to attend their convention to be held at the Mahabodhi Society Hall on June 16.

“They visited us to express their grievances against the police. I have told them that I will consult my party people and then take a decision,” the RSP leader said.

The convention will condemn state sponsored terrorism and will focus on freedom of expression.

The girls said that they would also invite other political parties to attend the convention.

“We have plans to invite other parties in the opposition,” said Mukherjee, member of Matangini Mahila Samity, the organisation which is holding the convention.
