Garments worth crores seized

The BSF South Bengal Frontier seized around one crore sarees and clothing material from one Mohammad Shamim Sheikh in the Jharakhal area of Sunderbans on Friday. Shamim, a resident of Bangladesh, has been arrested. Around 4,060 silk saris, worth Rs 80 lakh, were recovered along with 600 pieces of suiting materials, each worth around Rs 500, and 1,400 metres of shirt materials worth Rs 75,000. A boat worth Rs 3.5 lakh was also seized from the smugglers.
